Moving the world's largest turbine blade is hard work

An image has recently surfaced on the internet (courtesy of Gizmodo) that reveals the logistical lengths heavy industry manufacturers go to in order to transport their gigantic creations.
> The enormous piece of machinery in question is a mammoth 273.95-foot turbine blade that required a fleet of support vehicles to move it from its place of manufacture in Denmark to its final resting place in Methil, Scotland – home of the largest offshore wind turbine in the world.

After completing the slow and arduous journey, the blade was finally installed on a 7-megawatt test offshore turbine made by Samsung Heavy Industries, which will start producing energy in 2015.

The video below provides a neat glimpse into how the team completed the tricky task.
