This angular, futuristic monster you see before your eyes is what you get when you cross the jet fighter inspired styling of a Lamborghini Aventador with the natty hot rods of the American drag racing scene.
> The Lamborghini Rat Rod Concept, pictured above, is the brainchild of Pawel Wisniewski and Jans Slapins – a pair of automotive obsessed design students who were inspired by a YouTube video of a Lamborghini racing a hot rod.
After watching the short clip, the pair quickly took to their sketchpads and computers to draw out the Batman-esque vision. Although it is extremely unlikely that it will ever see production (it isn't an official Lamborghini project, after all), the design duo claim it would be fashioned from a bare carbon fibre construction and powered by a bi-turbo V8 engine should the Italian marque ever consider adding it to the model line-up.
For those not familiar with the 'rat rod' moniker – and we don't blame you – it is an underground car modification trend that doffs its cap to the American Hot Rods of the 40s, 50s and 60s, while favouring a 'bare bones' approach to styling similar to that seen on 'Rat' motorcycles and tricycles often found in the likes of Back Street Heroes Magazine.
Although the extensive use of carbonfibre, cutting-edge LED lighting technology and a state-of-the-art braking system is hardly 'Ratting' in the true sense of the word, it is still mighty impressive.
