Porsche recently announced that it is to sell potent GTS versions of its Cayman and Boxster models.
The GTS moniker may pump prices up to an eye-watering £52,879 but it does buy the most powerful engine in the current Boxster line-up (334bhp) and an uprated chassis that's designed to thrill.
The 3.4-litre flat-six engine has been tuned to produce an additional 13bhp over standard Boxster S models and an impressive 370Nm of torque.
One of the by-products of this extra performance is a snarling and crackling exhaust note that has to be heard to be appreciated and thankfully, the German marque has created a video to show it off.
Not convinced the heady outlay is worth it? That price also buys the brilliant Porsche Active Suspension Management system that allows the driver to modify the damper stiffness, launch control (if the PDK gearbox is selected) and distinctive bodywork that makes the baby of the Porsche range look like a real supercar, if that helps.
Potential owners also buy into the GTS badging that has graced Porsches ever the 904 Carrera GTS of the 1960s. The letters GTS stand for Gran Turismo Sport and have always signified outstanding levels of performance and race-ready drives.
