In preparation for the unveiling of its brand new X4 on March 6, BMW has released a short teaser video.
The 14-second clip only flashes a short glimpse of the car itself, but it seems it will follow a similar recipe to its bigger brother, the X6.
Already shown in 'concept' guise, the X4 is a slightly larger, sportier looking, four-door coupe version of the X3, but that is where the differences end. The interior is expected to be largely carried over from the X3, as will many of the available engines.
The motors on offer will include a selection of four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesels, which will send power to all four wheels. Full drivetrain details have yet to be confirmed but an eight-speed automatic gearbox is expected to be offered as an optional extra.
The new SUV is expected to be receive its public debut at the New York motor show in April, before arriving in showrooms later this year.
Is the BMW X4 an exciting new take on the sports SUV, or just BMW filling a nice that no one else thought existed? Have your say below.
