Real Madrid team gets new Audis

The perks of a job are never greater than in world-class football.

As if the weighty salary and global fame weren't enough, lucrative sponsorship deals can often see footballers gifted with some distinctly desirable products – simply in the hope that they might be photographed with them.

It's one reason Audi sponsors the Real Madrid football team – and part of that sponsorship deal is a brand new Audi for every single player.

It seems each member of the team got to pick their Audi of their choice, too.

Most, including Gareth Bale, Pepe and Marcelo went for size and space over performance, plumping for an Audi Q7 3.0TDi, a version of the company's largest SUV.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo opted for something a little faster in the form of an RS6 Avant, an estate car which can boast 553bhp.

Sergio Ramos, meanwhile, went for an RS5, Audi's hot coupé, while Xabi Alonso chose an S7 Sportback.

Álvaro Arbeloa, Karim Benzema and Álvaro Morata all chose Audi SQ5s.

Jesus Fernandez, meanwhile, opted for a comparatively humble Audi A3 2.0TDi Sportback.

Coach Carlo Ancelloti was also included in the round of swanky corporate gifts, receiving an Audi A8 4.2TDi.

Audi, which has sponsored Real Madrid for over 10 years now, says that the cars will be loaned to the team until the end of 2014.

They were officially presented to the players at a special ceremony at the Hippodrome de la Zarzuela, in Madrid.
