Lexus took the wraps off the rather extreme looking LF-NX concept at the Frankfurt motor show just a couple of months ago but the Japanese marque already has plans to make the model even more aggressive.
> The angular SUV will be on display once again at the Tokyo motor show later this month but this time it will pack a new turbocharged 2-litre petrol engine and a lower centre of gravity to prove it means business.
Unlikely to go into production sporting such intense styling credentials, the LF-NX is really tasked with sounding out public opinion on certain exterior and interior elements.
One area of interest is the over-sized 'spindle' grille, which has already started to make an appearance on new models but could become more pronounced on future releases.
Inside, the LF-NX features a high-tech touchpad interface that operates most of the infotainment and setting functions.
Don't expect to see the crazy SUV on sale anytime soon but it is a good indicator that Lexus is willing to tackle the likes of Porsche's upcoming Macan and the unstoppable Range Rover Evoque.
