Porsche plans to stamp its authority on the performance Gran Turismo market by releasing an updated Panamera Turbo S next year that boasts more power and more extreme external styling.

Due to be officially unveiled at the Tokyo motor show next month, the Turbo S pictured here will feature an uprated version of the mighty twin-turbocharged V8 engine that will punt out an extra 20bhp.

The power is pumped to all four corners resulting in a 0-62mph sprint time of 3.2 seconds and an astonishing top speed of 192 mph, yet, thanks to improved engine technology, it manages to return 27.7mpg on the combined cycle.

To keep things fresh in the looks department, the chaps at Porsche design have added a new front bumper with larger air intakes and refreshed headlamps with neat LED running strips.

There have been a number of larger changes at the rear, with a larger rear window as well as a four-way spoiler and more aggressive rear bumper that houses the number plate.

Under the bonnet, two new turbochargers have been bolted onto the engine that have an increased injection pressure for improved performance. Torque has increased by 50Nm to 750Nm, with an overboost function pushing those numbers up to 800Nm.

The new Panamera Turbo S is available to order now from Porsche Centres in the UK and Ireland, priced from £131,049.

First right-hand drive deliveries will arrive in January 2014 following the big reveal in Tokyo next month.
