Mercedes shows off its luxury yacht

Not content with creating stunning luxury saloons, the German marque looks set to make a foray into opulent yacht design judging from its latest Arrow460 concept.

The project is a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz designers and the technical bods at Silver Arrows Marine and according to the German marque it promises to combine the "design features of Mercedes-Benz automobiles with unrivalled innovations in the boat building industry."

The final product will measure up at 14 meters (45.9ft) when it goes into production, creating enough interior space for wealthy individuals and their pals to cruise the high seas.

The cabin can accommodate up to ten occupants and is decked out in plush materials such as nubuck leather, eucalyptus and wood panelling. Luxuries include: air conditioning, a premium audio system throughout the yacht's interior, a wine cellar, ice maker and a retractable dining room table.

Power is provided by two diesel engines that each produces 480bhp that will enable the floating hotel to cruise the oceans at speeds of up to 28-30 knots (weather permitting).

Finishing touches are currently being put onto the final designs but the Arrow460 will make its public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show where the order books will be opened.

Make sure your bank manager is in a good mood because one of these will set you back over £1 million plus local taxes.

Deliveries are expected to commence early 2015.
