It takes a special kind of driver to compete in the higher echelons of motorsport. As this video of an Indian rally driver proves (LINK), not everyone has the necessary skill and unflappable attitude.
One man who certainly does is GT3 driver Mike Simpson. Racing in the Avon Tyres British GT event at Brands Hatch, his Ginetta is suddenly struck at high speeds by a door that has fallen off another car.
It would be a shock large enough to cause the average driver to lose control of their car, and even hardened racing drivers would duck out of the race at the earliest opportunity. But not Simpson, who just carries on, pedal to the metal, as if it was a mosquito that had hit his windscreen.
Eventually, with a shattered front screen and a busted radiator he is forced to come into the pits, but not before overtaking other drivers, all the while working hard to keep the wrecked racer out of the wall.
