Followers of British boxing legend Amir Khan will know that he tied the knot last week in New York.
Now he's back in Blighty, Khan has splashed the cash on a brand new Mercedes SL roadster as a gift for his American bride, 21-year-old student Faryal Makhdoom.
The Olympic gold medallist tweeted an image of the impressive dark blue convertible as soon as it was delivered, with a message to his wife, saying: "A little present for u – and we will teach u to drive on the right side."
Makhdoom is said to have been handed the keys as soon as she landed in Britain on Tuesday.
The couple are set to host a bash in Salford on Sunday. 4,000 guests are expected to attend, including other sporting celebs such as Ricky Hatton and Wayne Rooney.
Worth £72,500, the SL350 is amongst the most expensive and exclusive cars in the Mercedes firmament. Powered by a 3.5-litre V6, it is capable of covering the 0-62mph sprint in 5.9 seconds and will reach an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
The SL range is topped by a huge 6.0-litre V12 version costing £168,285, though given Makhdoom's lack of driving experience on UK roads it was a perhaps a sensible move on Khan's part to gift her something that was less of a handful.
