To celebrate its fiftieth birthday, McLaren has unveiled a limited run Anniversary Edition of its 12C supercar, called the 12C 50.
Available in both coupe and drop-top Spider guises, just 100 examples will be made available worldwide.
To distinguish it from the regular 12C, the anniversary model features a number of bespoke revisions by McLaren's Special Operations division (MSO), the department responsible for the creation of the company's more outlandish and individual one-offs such as the retro-styled X-1.
Exterior changes include a newly modelled front bumper, which offers increased downforce at speed. It is constructed from a blend of carbon-fibre and carbon-Kevlar for strength and lightness.
Above it sits a black McLaren F1 inspired heritage badge – something that was only previously available to clients of the MSO division.
The 12C 50 is also fitted as standard with the carbon-ceramic brake pack. Offering increased stopping power, particularly on track, the monstrous discs sit behind unique ultra-lightweight alloy wheels finished in Satin Black.
Inside, the cabin receives the full leather package as standard, as well as subtle branding in the carbon-fibre sill and floor mats to denote the car's limited edition status.
The McLaren 12C 50 costs £196,000 for the coupe and £215,000 for the Spider. Each will be issued with a limited edition key in a carbon-fibre presentation case, along with a specially commissioned print signed by McLaren design director Frank Stephenson.
