Vauxhall Adam convertible could arrive as early as 2014

The plucky little Adam will start to appear on UK roads very soon but Vauxhall already has plans to release a convertible version next year.

According to Auto Express, Vauxhall insiders revealed that a soft-top Adam to rival the likes of the Fiat 500C and Citroen DS3 Cabrio is already on the cards.
> The British firm has previously admitted it has set its sights on the Italian firm, considering it a direct rival to the Adam, while it also hopes to attract customers away from the styling Citroen DS range. Both of which have convertible offerings.

A Vauxhall Adam Rocks concept - that we previewed last month - was unveiled at the Geneva motor show this week and it featured a roll back canvas roof, raised ride height and a chunky bodykit that added a touch of SUV to the small citycar.

The revised grille and wider track also hint at the potential for a crossover Adam to sit in the current line-up.

Other clever gadgets attached to the concept included an intelliLink infotainment system that features a weather app that automatically closes the roof if rain is predicted.

Vauxhall also announced full integration of Apple's Siri personal assistant for iPhone users in the Adam at Geneva.

The convertible canvas roof may have been showcased on the chunky crossover Rocks concept, but Auto Express believe it to become an option on all Adam variants over the next year or so.
