Lexus reveals new hybrid and sports limos

Lexus reveals new LS
Details of Lexus' new luxury limo, the LS, have been released by the Japanese maker.

The range starts at £71,995 for the LS 460 Luxury rising to £99,495 for the range-topping LS 600h L Premier. Also available is the LS 460 F Sport, marking the first F Sport variant for an LS model.

Powering both the Luxury and F Sport models is a 382bhp 4.6-litre V8 VVT-i petrol engine, while the long-wheelbase LS 600h L Premier gets a full-hybrid powertrain featuring a 5.0-litre V8, delivering 439bhp.

Every LS model gets a host of technology, including automatic bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, four-zone climate control, electrically-adjustable leather seats, 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with a DVD player linked to a 12.3-inch central display.

Lane-keep assist, blind spot monitoring and advanced pre-crash safety systems with collision avoidance assistance are also standard across the LS range.

F Sport trim builds on this specification with larger 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, limited-slip diff, uprated suspension, 'Sport' bumpers and skirts, perforated leather on both front seats and the steering wheel, aluminum pedals and aluminum-finish dash inserts.

The top-of-the-range L Premier has rear electric rear seats, with the left-hand-rear seat getting additional massage function.

Also included is Lexus' 'climate concierge' system which uses infra-red sensors to monitor the facial temperature of each occupant to individually adjust the four-zone climate control, seat heaters/coolers and the heated steering wheel.

In addition to all of this technology, the LS can also be specified with a night-vision system, which uses an infra-red camera to provide images during night driving conditions.

Eight exterior colours and five interior colours are available for Luxury and Premier trims and seven exterior and two interior colours are available for the F Sport model.
