Comedian Omid Djalili has added another three penalty points to his driving licence – taking his total to 36 – after being fined for speeding on the M4.
The 47-year-old comic and actor, once the face of insurance price comparison website moneysupermarket.com, was caught by a speed camera on the motorway at Port Talbot, south Wales.
Andrew Perry, prosecuting, told Neath magistrates yesterday that Djalili was photographed on the M4 in January this year. He was driving a Lexus Hybrid car which was travelling at 61mph in a 50mph zone.
Mr Perry added that the comedian had effectively been driving without a licence since it was revoked four years ago.
Djalili, aged 47, was also banned from driving for six months in September for riding his moped without insurance.
And at yesterday's hearing in Neath, another three points were added to his licence – taking the total to 36 – and he was told to pay a total of £1,350 in fines and costs.
Djalili, who lives in East Sheen, London, did not appear in court.
