Seat shows off new Leon hatchback

Seat's new Leon hatchback
Seat has revealed prices for the all-new Leon, the Spanish cousin of VW's recently unveiled MKVII Golf.

Starting at £15,670 on the road, the Leon comes in three trim levels - S, SE and sporty FR.

S - the cheapest of the range - will come generously equipped with air conditioning, integrated Bluetooth with hands-free and music streaming functions, and a smart-looking colour touchscreen interface for the stereo.

SE adds a leather steering wheel and gear knob along with 16-inch alloys and gadgets like hill-hold control, while the FR is adorned with larger 17-inch wheels and redesigned, sportier front and rear bumpers.

A number of engines are available, ranging from an entry-level 1.2 TSI petrol capable of 57.6mpg, to a range-topping 2.0-litre, 140mph diesel that hits 60mph in 7.5 seconds.

Prices start at £15,670 for the 1.2 TSI S, and go up to £22,635 for the 2.0 TDI FR with DSG gearbox.
