Nissan has announced a new concept that'll eventually take on the likes of the Ford Fiesta - the Invitation will aim to best Ford's supermini and the Volkswagen Polo at their own game.
Nissan also announced that the production version of the concept (which will probably look largely the same but with more 'normal' headlamps) will be built alongside the Juke crossover at its Sunderland plant.
Producing the car at the UK plant comes after £125m has been invested by Nissan and £9.3m has been offered by the UK Government Regional Growth Fund. 2,000 jobs will be created by producing the Invitation here.
Of course, it'll also mean that Nissan might accidentally make a good small car again and wipe away memories of the horrid new Micra.
