Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati breaks cover

Updated:

There are many versions of the Fiat 500 to spend your cash on. You can spend a little or quite a lot on a tiny retro Fiat, it all depends on what you want from a dinky car.

Three years ago, Abarth announced a wee hook up with Ferrari to bring us the 695 Tributo Ferrari. There were limited numbers, it came with some pretty jazzy styling touches and it had four exhausts. Now Abarth is back with the 695 Tributo Maserati, it's like the Ferrari but more about style than anything else.
For starters it's only available as a convertible, so ideal for people looking for something to sun themselves in while they're on the move.

Colour-wise the dinky Maser gets to waft around wearing a rather fine Pontevecchio Bordeaux hue selected by the Italian firm. It's rather pretty.

Under the bonnet sits a 180bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine which should give the car more than enough shove for city driving.

To make sure you can stop in time buyers have a set of 305mm Brembo discs hidden within a rather glamorous set of 17-inch Trident-inspired alloy wheels. Also the smallest Maserati gets hexagonal tailpipes as you do on a Maserati GranTurismo.

Inside, passengers are treated to Poltrona Frau leather upholstery and matt-carbon dash details.

Only 499 will be sold after its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
