Video: BMW's ludicrous M Division diesels hit the track

So yesterday BMW announced the most insane diesel engine ever committed to road cars, via a press release. Today, in the tradition of the best PR, BMW has released a video, thus giving the engine two whole days' coverage.

If this engine were a three-cylinder diesel with less than 100g/km we wouldn't have bothered, but it's not. Three is the magic number - but that's because the engine is 3.0-litres big and has three, yes three, turbos.
