As the famous song goes, 'Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes-Benz, my friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends...'
So, we were surprised to see that the iconic Joplin, had in fact been allured by the timeless lines of Porkers and purchased this three year-old Porsche 356C Cabriolet in 1968.
The original pearl grey paint was soon gone once her close friend and poster artist Dave Richards added his touch to the car.
Apparently, he used good-old fashioned regular house paint and the design reflects psychedelic drug scenes and graphics from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The result is just as impressive as John Lennon's Rolls-Royce and the car remains a fantastic snippet of the singer's life for fans to appreciate.
