Proper Peugeot GTi to make a return

After years in the doldrums making lardy hatchbacks claimed to be 'hot', Peugeot is set to revive the fabled GTi boot badge for a hot hatch of epic proportions.

The successor to the stunning 205 GTi, the 206 GTi 180 was never really a hit. Producing an odd 175bhp given its name (it was still only 177 in euro-speak) the 206 was never hot but more like luke-warm given how much weight it had to pull and its soggy chassis. As a result the old GTi moniker that stood for so much was desecrated in one fell swoop.
