You'll remember the first Swift Sport as 'that Suzuki I actually liked'. Well, feel free to retain that phrase for further use, because here's the very similar-looking new version.
The Swift Sport's success was built on being quite quick and loads of fun, without ever being hot enough to bother your insurance company too much.
This new one boasts a more responsive steering rack and stiffened suspension to go with its 134bhp engine (up by 11bhp on the old car), so we can expect to hear the word 'agile' a lot once it hits the shops.
The brakes are bigger, too, and the six-speed manual gearbox has been developed specifically for the car. The wheels are of 17-inch girth, and like the 'box, the tyres have been developed especially.
Because it's based on the latest Swift (obviously), we know it'll be bigger and better quality. And despite the power hike, fuel economy is up, from 39.8mpg in the last Sport to 44.1mpg. It follows that CO2 emissions are down, sinking from 165g/km to 147. Nice.
Sales in the UK begin early 2012.
