Parents dream about taking their kids to school in a BMW X5 more than any other car - proving that the green agenda isn't really curbing the appetite for massive, speed hump-conquering inner city SUVs.
The Range Rover and Porsche Cayenne also make the list of most desirable school run cars, along with the MINI Countryman and, strangely, the Mercedes-Benz CLK Cabriolet. That classic family car.
And in yet more proof that mums and dads are more concerned about showing off than comfort for their kids, the Fiat 500 makes the list too.
That said, the Ford S-Max people carrier places higher, and the Toyota Prius is in the top ten – so it's not all environmental doom and gloom outside the school gates.
The survey by Tesco, who funnily enough has recently opened up a business selling used cars, is indicative of the pressure put on parents to look the part in front of the other mums and dads.
Tesco Cars' Rebecca Ryan said: "For many parents, driving the school-run can feel a little like 'keeping up with the Joneses'. It's understandable that drivers might get envious of those who can afford the luxury rides."
