Fiat's 500 has been subject to more tweaks and upgrades than we ever thought possible, with plenty of performance and wrapped models making their way out of various aftermarket tuners around the globe.
But this is the first time anyone has thought to turn the stylish little car into a four-wheel drive van.
American company Scagliarini Motorsports has taken the flexible Fiat and created what it calls the 504 Coupè Zagato Elaborata.
It is based on the Abarth 500 chassis, and also features the Abarth front seats, Brembo brakes and a Ragazzon performance exhaust. The engine is the one from the Essesse Abarth – a 1.4-litre 178bhp turbocharged affair.
As well as the filled in rear windows, it also comes with a Lamborghini Arancio paint job (orange), carbon fibre touches and the four-wheel drive system that uses parts from the Fiat Panda – which is where the 4 in the 504 name comes from.
The car was commissioned as a unique project by a buyer in the United Arab Emirates, but there is the possibility of a further run if demand is there.
Michael Salvarani, managing director of Scagliarini Motorsports, said: "With the Scagliarini 504 Coupè Zagato Elaborata we have established Scagliarini Motorsports on the world-stage proper."
