Volvo UK's imaginative Facebook competition to find the UK's greatest driving road has been won by a chap who suggested the 14.8-mile drive from Ambleside to Boot in the Lake District.
It might not be the Stelvio Pass or the Col de Turini, but the route certainly looks like it offers some pretty spectacular views of England's green and pleasant land.
It's a shame the road is single track, though (it narrows to the point of becoming a bridal path at some stage) so we'd stop short of calling it a great driving road.
Fortunately, the UK does have plenty of those. We'd recommend the Black Mountain Pass in the Brecon Beacons, the Cat and Fiddle in the Peak District and the A87 which runs from Invergarry to the Isle of Skye.
Winner Martin Baker gets a Volvo S60 DRIVe R-Design for his trouble, and we get a Robert Llewellyn presented video of the drive. Click below to watch.
