Video: Racing Leaf begins track testing

Honda may well be busying themselves with a one-off performance road car based on their eco-friendly CR-Z hybrid, but Nissan is going one better by building a full-on race version of the all-electric Leaf.

We reported on the EV racer's unveiling last month, but now we get to see the car on the track as Nissan has released a video of it during a recent shakedown session.

Unlike the modified CR-Z Mugen, the Leaf RC has been rebuilt as a track machine from the ground up by in-house tuner, Nismo. Click below to see how the team are getting on with harnessing every ounce of energy from the battery-powered model.
