Video: Banned Nissan ad makes us want to be Ford engineers

Updated

Ok, imagine you've been tasked with making a Nissan TV advertisement which explains to viewers that the Tiida hatchback is significantly cheaper than the Ford Focus. How do you go about it?

Well, the Brazilian way would appear to be to dress men up like Ford engineers, cover them in jewellery, bring on the semi-naked dancing girls and have them aggressively rap things like: "Don't weep because you're paying extra money - your money was well spent, look what I do with it."

Understandably, Ford's local division was a little bit upset with the results and has begun legal proceedings against their rival. The commercial was removed too, but there's no such thing as a banned advert these days, and a ticking off by the Brazilian courts is probably worth the amount of coverage the whole affair has generated.
