Kia's new Rio will come with a tax-busting diesel engine that will emit just 85g/km of CO2– a class-leading level by current standards.

The 1.1-litre, 69bhp diesel engine should also come with an official fuel consumption of 88.3mpg when the car comes fitted with the company's ISG stop start technology.
