Audi has revealed the small saloon concept at the Geneva show which previews a future four-door production variant of the A3.
The show car's profile resembles a scaled down RS4 with obvious design cues taken from the latest A6 and A8. It sits on Volkswagen's newest platform, which will underpin the next generation of the A3.
Described as "a glimpse of the future expansion of the A3 family", the concept is a high performance variant which boasts four-wheel drive and a 408bhp 2.5-litre engine mated to a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission.
The car is designed to appeal to markets such as North America, China and Russia, where four-door variants are more popular than their hatchback equivalents.
There's no word yet as to what intentions the brand has for a potential European version, but the muscular show car does offer a tantalising glimpse of what a saloon version of the forthcoming RS3 might look like.
