Jaguar has unveiled its quickest production car ever ahead of the Geneva show.
The new XKR-S gets an uprated version of Jaguar's supercharged V8 engine which develops 542bhp and 502lb ft of torque.
Those stats mean the coupe's 0-60mph time drops to an impressive 4.2 seconds – 0.4 seconds quicker than the standard XKR manages.
Top speed is up too; the XKR-S will reportedly hit 186mph, an even higher figure than the limited edition XKR-75 achieved last year.
"The XKR-S is a bold and exciting new model for Jaguar," said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's new global brand director.
"We expect to attract both loyal and new Jaguar driving enthusiasts who still want the comfort, opulence and class only a Jaguar can offer, combined with inspirational performance."
As well as a significant boost in power, the brand is also promising its most agile car ever, and has overhauled the suspension and reprogrammed the Adaptive Dynamics system to offer greater driver appeal.
Jaguar hasn't announced prices for the XKR-S yet, but expect it to put the car closer to Aston Martin DBS's level than ever before.
