If there's one thing you can't fault the Chinese for its ambition. Epic Olympic venues? Tick. Fifth-generation stealth fighter? Tick. Jet-powered fire engine? Tick.
That's right, China has thrown its considerable technical ingenuity (and boundless imagination) at a $456,000 (£287,135) jet-propelled water cannon in the name of fire safety.
The new fire engine is part of the Luoyang City force and can spray four tonnes of water every four minutes over 120 metres. We're not sure what sort of apocalyptic fires they're expecting in Luoyang City, but this goes in at number six in our top ten things to drive/ride/fly.
