The S60 has to be the best looking Volvo in a long, long time and the Swedes are very serious about its dynamic drive. Has Volvo succeeded with the latest R-Design?
All hail the sportiest version of the S60 range yet, the R-Design version of the T5. Thankfully R-Design changes for the coupe-like shape including the new front airdam, the rear diffuser the chrome mirror covers and those 18-inch "Ixion" alloy wheels are well integrated.
Inside, the R-Design aluminium trim, sports pedals and the blue instrument dials help to lift the standard S60 cabin and make you feel like you're driving something more special.

On the road, the 240PS, turbocharged T5 engine feels gutsy enough to live up to this S60's sporty looks. Top speed is a licence-losing 143mph, with the dash to 60mph completed in just 6.9 seconds. Steering feel is good, the six-speed gearbox is slick and the handling feels tight.
In fact, my only problems with the S60 R-Design are the ride which I think will be too hard for some and the fact that it's not really dynamic enough to be considered against cars such as the current BMW 3-Series.
