Video: Porsche Cayman R exposed

Of all the cars that received their public debut in LA this week, it was Porsche's new hardcore Cayman that sent our pulses racing.

The mid-engined maestro can already lay claim to some of the finest handling characteristics Porsche has ever bestowed on a road car so the stripped-out, harder, faster R version is likely to be quite a machine.

The new model is set to go on sale in the UK next February with a starting price tag of £51,731. That's a sizable chunk of change, but if you're pondering an investment in some wheels you could certainly do a lot worse than this future classic.
