There was once a time when the car section of eBay was the preserve of dodgy motors that the owner couldn't flog in the back of his local paper, or bizarre creations that were trying to attract as much attention (and money) as possible.
But times have changed; now you can find all manner of automotive exotica on the online auction site. The latest example we stumbled across belonged to none other than basketball megastar (and star of 1996 film Space Jam alongside Bugs Bunny) Michael Jordan.
The car in question is a 2007 Mercedes McLaren SLR 722 that has been signed by the former Chicago Bulls legend, and is currently labelled with an asking price of $429,998, although there is the option to make an offer on the car. We suspect that you won't get away with much less than the asking price though, so any cheeky suggestions of £500 will probably not go down well.
The SLR has a top speed of 209mph, and gets to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds. Brand new it would have cost around £350,000 in the UK, and Jordan's example has covered just 962 miles.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the car is not being sold by Jordan himself, it is through a dealer in Houston, Texas, and the listing is due to remain online until 31 October.
