Volkswagen creates specialist 'R' division

Volkswagen is setting up a dedicated 'R' division called Volkswagen R Gmbh which will specialise in the creation and building of "sporty exclusive models".

The R Division has already taken ownership of VW's two hottest models, the Scirocco R and Golf R while it will also be responsible for the R line design packages, as seen on the Passat and Tiguan models.

Thankfully, it won't mean any massive changes to the products we get at the dealership end, with VW promising the same car attention to detail we've come to expect from its performance range.
