If we were the proud owner of one rare and very expensive Bugatti Veyron – estimated to be worth around £1 million – we would hesitate to trade it in at all, let alone for a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
But that's exactly what an American man has decided to do. Carlton Beal from Texas gave up his stunning 2008 Veyron finished in two-tone black and red paint to take home a brand new ZR1 costing him little more than £100k.
Beal is no stranger to supercar ownership and is said to have previously owned a Lamborghini Diablo and Mclaren F1.
If he thought the 253mph Veyron was costing him too much, the ZR1 is unlikely to offer much respite as it is no fuel-sipping eco car – it is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 and can reach a top speed of 205mph.
Whatever the real reason for the trade, we hope the Veyron finds itself a new owner very soon.
