Pagani to release Zonda replacement this year

Updated

Pagani will release the replacement for its insanely quick Zonda by the end of the year, according to the company founder, Horacio Pagani.

The Argentine boss told media in his country that the new car will be called the C9 and will be powered by a 690bhp version of Mercedes' 6.0-litre V12 AMG engine.

Pagani said the Zonda replacement will be a completely new design and will feature 3770 new parts and will be underpinned by a carbon-titanium chassis. As the current Zonda R manages 0-62mph in just 2.7 seconds and carries on to 217mph, it is reasonable to assume the next Pagani will be pretty rapid too...

It will be exclusive too, only 40 will be made each year and it is likely to cost around £785,000.
