Downhill slalom

As the news and weather reports have repeatedly rammed down our throats the past few weeks - it's cold out there.

And with the cold has come the snow and frost. Now we know those 24-hour news channels need to fill their programmes somehow but for many hardy souls, the white stuff is more of an inconvenience than a major event.

Unfortunately, there is also that section of the motoring public - the ones who use their AmEx card as an ice scraper, perhaps - who will struggle to find their feet and their grip once the snow falls.
