Porsche builds 10,000th Panamera

Updated

Porsche has proved detractors of its Panamera saloon wrong by revealing that 10,000 examples of the new four-door coupe have been built in just three months.

The 10,000th Panamera is a silver metallic Turbo, due to be delivered to a customer in Singapore.

"Sales of the Panamera have really taken off," said Porsche board chairman Michael Macht. "We have already secured over 9,000 orders." Porsche's original sales target for the Panamera was 20,000 models per year.

It's been confirmed that 44 percent of Panameras ordered so far are in 4S trim, with the Turbo making up a further 36 percent. All 10,000 Panameras sold worldwide so far have been built at the company's Leipzig plant, on the same production line as the Cayenne SUV.
