You have until 23rd March to bid on eBay for the fastest series production car in the world. The 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero TT has a top speed of 257mph, and the twin-turbo V8 mounted behind the seats delivers 1183bhp. Its starting price was a modest 100,000 US dollars, but after three days the highest bid stood at 425,100 US dollars.

Next year, the new model is due to come onto the market. It is expected to conceal at least an additional 100bhp under the bonnet and reach speeds of 270mph plus.
