Captive Bred Fox Makes the Most Precious Wake-Up Sounds Ever
Okay, we'll say it. We think people should pay a lot more attention to foxes. Even though they're wild animals, they have big personalities that humans rarely get to see. Just take one fox on the internet who people are really loving. Her sweet wake up smile is just too cute.
Currently at a sanctuary, one of Luna's handlers recently took an opportunity to show the fox first thing in the morning.
In a video the woman, who goes by @foxladymi, shared online it shows her doing the one chore that some people might not relish — wake up duty. Animas can get cranky too, ya' know.

Thankfully, judging by the clip, Luna seems like she's more of a morning person
"Luna! Good morning!" her handler said to her. The fox woke with a start, but once she saw who was waiting for her she seemed so pleased. She let out a big stretch and then released a series of the cutest fox whines we've ever heard. If you ask us, it sort of sounded like she was begging for pets
"Luna is a captive-bred fox who is unable to live in the wild. She was formerly a pet and now she lives at a sanctuary, where I work," the woman explained in the caption.
The comments section has fallen in love with Luna. "Tell Luna she is a very good girl and give her snoot a boop from me," wrote one person. "We don’t deserve animals. They are so pure and innocent," someone else added. "I just realized that a fox sounds like a rubber chicken....but a whole lot cuter....," joked one commenter. "She wakes up so happy, her tail is thumping away," praised someone else.
Do Foxes Make Good Pets?
While Luna is a certified cutie, that doesn't mean that foxes should be kept as pets. There are some exceptions, of course. But there are some things you should know before bringing a fox home.
They might seem like dogs, but there are lots of ways in which the two differ. Foxes typically can't be housebroken, which is a big deal when deciding to bring home an animal. In fact, foxes tend to like to mark their territory, which is less than ideal for humans who like their furniture.
Foxes also have very specific dietary needs. They eat lots of fresh meat like rabbits and mice and need to eat lots of taurine, an amino acid, in their foods to keep them healthy. Even if you were to get the right food, foxes have a special way that they need to eat it. They need to be mentally stimulated, meaning that you can't just leave their breakfast in a bowl and walk away.
It's all to say that if you really love the idea of a pet fox, supporting sanctuaries like this one are probably better ways to show your love.
