Cat noises are the best noises. From their quiet purrs to even their yowls, hearing your cat "talk" to you is actually one of the best parts of being a pet owner. That goes double for those unusual noises your cat makes — like a British Shorthair cat's "baby meows" that has the internet swooning.

Little Chai is adorable to begin with. He has soft brown fur and big beautiful eyes. But it's the noises he makes that has won the internet over.

Chai's owner took video of the cat perched and ready to make a quick speech. With that adorable face of his he released a serious of quiet "meows" at his owner. In between meows he would blink his eyes. He was really saying something! Someone gets this guy a cat toy — stat.

"He’s just a baby," Chai's owner wrote in the video's caption.

The internet was positively swooning. "That slow blink was the most perfect slow blink," wrote one person in the comments section. "Currently on season 14 of this video," someone else joked. "Ohh man that smile just melted my heart," a third commenter chimed in. "I'm actually gonna cry it’s so cute," another person gushed.

All About British Shorthairs

Aside from having the most precious faces, there are lots of reasons to adopt a British Shorthair cat. Under all that soft fur, these medium-sized cats are well-muscled. Meaning they'll need plenty of activity and exercise to keep them in good shape. These are also playful cats, so you'll need to engage them in lots and lots of playtime.

As far as personalities go, this breed can't be beat. British Shorthairs are easy going, placid, and exceptionally loyal. They love their people and are easily the type to attach themselves to all the members of the family. That being said, you don't need to keep your cat occupied all day long. They aren't attention-seeking and are actually happy to play all by themselves. That's why they make great pets for single people — they don't need to be constantly entertained. And when they want to play, don't worry — they'll find you.

British Shorthairs come in a variety of coat colors and usually have blue, copper, gold, or odd-eye colored eyes. They have a typical lifespan of seven to 12 years and are usually on the larger side, over 12 lbs., as for as weight goes.

You can't really do better than a British Shorthair. They are really charming animals who make the best of pets.
