A British man has reportedly died after being pulled unconscious from the sea in a picturesque cove in Ibiza.

The 35-year-old is believed to have been taking underwater photos with a friend in Punta Galera, near the tourist resort of San Antonio, when he got into difficulty.

According to reports, emergency services were called to the scene after his friend raised the alarm on Wednesday evening but despite their efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Punta Galera, which has a series of 'shelves' caused by the rock formations, is popular with cliff jumpers as well as for snorkelling and watching the sunset.

A Civil Guard spokesman has reportedly confirmed the man was a 35-year-old Briton.Read
