Britain's Got Talent's Golden Buzzer act Sydnie Christmas is favourite to win the show, according to the latest odds from bookies William Hill.

This week Christmas hit back at West End claims but now she has become an instant fan favourite. Support for the star has begun to pick up with her odds going from 4/1 earlier this week to the 11/4 favourite to win.

As the competition got off to an exciting start, can you spot the 2024 winner of Britain's Got Talent yet? Here we take a look at the latest winning odds in full for Britain's Got Talent.

BGT's other Golden Buzzer act Choir Ravi’s Dream Team is just behind and hot on the singer's heels at 4/1 in the odds. Opera singer Innocent Masuku, taekwondo performers The Ssaulabi Performance Troupe and dog display team The Trickstars all are tied at 8/1.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: "The Britain’s Got Talent judges were wowed by Sydnie Christmas’ performance of Tomorrow last Saturday night, which saw her earn the third golden buzzer of the series.

"On the back of that, we’ve seen strong support for Sydnie in the market and she’s shortened to 11/4 from 4/1 at the beginning of the week. Ravi’s Dream Team have also earned a golden buzzer and come next in the betting at 4/1, followed by a trio of acts – Innocent Masuku, The Ssaulabi Performance Troupe and The Trickstars – at 8/1."

Christmas has been stirring up a social media storm after her performance of Tomorrow at the weekend. There were complaints on social media from misinformed fans, including one who wrote: "Sydnie Christmas is a professional singer/actress already working in the West End. Thought #bgt was for amateurs not professional. She’s taken golden buzzer off someone more deserving."

However, the singer didn't shy away from the claims she starred on the West End with her appearance on Lorraine earlier this week. TV host Lorraine Kelly opened the interview with the talk of Christmas starring on the West End. She said: "You have been grafting away, you have done the cruise ships, you've never been on the West End though?"

"No!" Christmas said.

"You've never done any of that," Kelly set the record straight. "You've always wanted to. This is your dream isn't it?"

While she's not been on the West End yet, it is the singer's dream. "I just aspire to, I want to be a leading lady," she said. "That's the dream! That's the aim."

After this week's launch show, everyone was left wondering: do Britain's Got Talent stars with previous experience have an unfair advantage?

A TV source told Yahoo: "Ultimately, it’s the public who decide their winner, irrespective of whether an act has some previous experience. There is no unfair advantage because the winner is crowned by the public vote.

"It’s fair game, as all acts are voted for by the public. The show has never hidden the fact that auditions are open to everybody, irrespective of previous experience, and everybody is given the same opportunity on the show.

"Regardless of whether they have some previous experience, these contestants are not household names, and are unknown to most of the public. The show offers contestants an opportunity to pursue their dreams and ambitions, and to perform to audiences on a global scale."
