If you are looking for something to make you smile, this video that Nashville Zoo shared in honor of National Farm Animals Day will do it! CBS News shared a clip from the zoo on Monday, April 15th of baby goats bouncing around and enjoying the beautiful weather, and you can't watch it without smiling!

Throughout the short video, we get to watch baby goats as they play and explore their new world. Their adorable little hops are actually very quick, and they all enjoy climbing and running around their yard. They seem to be having a good time!

I could watch them bounce around all day! I actually wish the clip was longer because those baby goats are just too cute! CBS News said that the video was in celebration of National Farm Animals Day, which was on April 10th this year. National Day Calendar describes what the day represents, "Each year on April 10th, National Farm Animals Day focuses attention on the humane care of farm animals. The day also aims to find homes for abandoned and abused farm animals." I didn't even know the day existed!

Facts About Baby Goats and Other Farm Animals

I've always thought that it would be fun to have a small farm. A couple of pygmy goats and mini cows, some chickens, and maybe even a pig would be enough for me. But I live in a neighborhood where that's not possible, and I know nothing about farming! I did a quick search to learn more about goats and other farm animals and thought it would be fun to share a few of them.

Did you know that goats don’t have teeth on their upper jaw? Instead, they have a hard palate that they use to grind down their food. The same goes for sheep. Goats also make great companions for other farm animals, including horses, chickens, and cows.

And speaking of cows, did you know that they have four stomachs that help them digest the food that they eat? It's actually one big stomach but it has four different compartments. An average dairy cow can eat over 100 pounds of feed a day...no wonder they need all of those stomachs!

Here's an interesting fact about chickens: they have great memories and can remember and recognize about 100 faces.

Most people know that pigs are very intelligent - some compare their intelligence to that of dogs - but did you know that they also express emotions? "They form strong bonds with other pigs and display complex emotions such as empathy and compassion."

Animals are so incredible, and I really enjoy learning new facts about them. I may not be able to have a farm now, but I'm putting it on my bucket list for further down the road.
