Abused Senior French Bulldog Finds 'Peace and Comfort' in Stuffed Dog Toy

It's the most heartbreaking case of animal abuse that we've ever seen. A senior French Bulldog is finally getting a little comfort and rest through a stuffy that she's become attached to. And footage of the pup finally getting love has people absolutely gutted online.

Shared by the Valley Animal Center in Fresno, California, footage of Quinn playing with her toy is gut-wrenching.

The clip shows the extent of the abuse that Quinn the Frenchie faced. She has scabbing all over her back and neck, was used for breeding, and as a previous video on the Valley Animal Center's page shows, the 10-year-old was marked with a tattoo and given a number.

When she first arrived at the shelter, Quinn was defeated, sad, and "hopeless." But she's really taken a turn for the better since coming to the animal rescue.

As the most recent video shows, Quinn has slowly been recovering. Her scabs are started to look better and the light has returned to her eyes. She's also become attached to a large stuffed animal — a dog. And the video shows their very first meeting. Quinn was cautious at first, but quickly took to the stuffy and by the end of the video the two were having a cuddle.

"We saw a little spark in her," the rescue wrote in the onscreen caption.

Commenters were crushed by the French Bulldog's story. "It makes me so sad she wasn’t rescued sooner. Poor baby. I’m so happy she’s out of that awful situation now," wrote one person. "I will never be able to understand evilness, but I know not all is lost with this pup. It will take time but with your care in a few months this pup will flourish," someone else added. "I would give this baby all the love she deserves. I’m so happy she’s saved. Why are people so awful," another woman wondered.

Other Dogs Available at Valley Animal Center

Quinn isn't the only animal in need at the rescue. There are many dogs who want a good home.

Like Xena, a Doberman Pinscher mix that is a serious sweetheart with tons of energy. Xena is foster-to-adopt as she is still waiting to get spayed.

Lollipop is a Siberian Husky mix that's also looking for a new home. Lollipop loves attention and will "voice my concerns until I get someone to pet me," the rescue joked. Sounds like a total lovebug.

Enzo is a Boxer and Terrier mix who gets along well with the other animals at the shelter.

There are lots of ways that you can make a difference in an animal's life. Even fostering can do so much for these guys. Here's hoping that there are good things ahead for Quinn. She deserves many more moments of peace and rest.
