Manhole covers explode into the air after Chinese boy throws lit firecracker down sewer

Five manhole covers flew into the air after a boy threw a lit firecracker down the sewer, causing an explosion in southern China.

In the video, shot in the city of Dazhou in Sichuan Province on January 22, the boy can be seen throwing an ignited firecracker down into a sewer through a manhole, and then quickly running away.

A huge explosion then occurs, sending a row of five manhole covers flying up into the air.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

The manholes have since been repaired and the boy and his parents have been reprimanded.
