Sinead O'Connor 'very excited' to start training as healthcare professional
Sinead O'Connor has confirmed she will be training to become a healthcare assistant in her native Ireland while continuing with her music career.
The singer, now also known as Shuhada Sadaqat, shared the news with fans on Twitter as she explained she would be undertaking a Further Education and Training Awards Council level five healthcare support course.

"Am still gonna be a singer but am gonna work as a healthcare assistant when I'm between albums and tours," the 53-year-old told her followers.
O'Connor first shared news of her new venture back in May on Ireland's The Late Late Show where she explained she was interested in focusing on palliative care.
"Obviously the Covid thing gave me more thought for what do I want to do with my life.
"If I had taken this course two years ago but touring got in the way I could have been out working and helping people which I would have liked to have been doing," she told host Ryan Tubridy.
O'Connor was among the voices criticising Dublin's anti-mask protestors recently and asked them not to use her music at such rallies.

The Corrs' Jim Corr was among the protestors gathered in the capital on 22 August in a move that was criticised by X Factor stars Jedward.
Referencing The Corrs hit Breathless, John and Edward Grimes wrote on Twitter: “G’wan leave the whole country “breathless” from Covid because of your idiotic behaviour @Jimcorrsays."
In response the their criticism, Corr dubbed them "Ireland's Milli Vanilli" and told them to "grow a brain between you". The twins retorted by calling the guitarist "the best background band member in the history of Irish music".
