Burglars flee after householder opens fire

Three would-be burglars get the shock of their lives after breaking into a home in Florida.

The men are filmed by a doorbell camera as they barge their way into a house in Neptune Beach.

Seconds later, three gunshots are heard and the suspects are seen fleeing from the property - one of them leaping from a staircase.

One of the men was taken to hospital after being shot in the chest. His accomplices remained at large.

In a tweet, the Neptune Beach Police urged the public to provide any information to the police tip-line.
