Pablo Escobar's 'cocaine hippos' could actually be doing some good.

The descendants of the pets the drug lord infamously kept on his property in Colombia have previously received something of a bad reputation due to their feral nature.

But now scientists are holding up their swelling numbers as an example of how a species can thrive in a new environment.
