Student apologises to Prince Harry for ‘cuddling’ Meghan

A British high school student wrote an apologetic letter to Prince Harry after he embraced his wife Meghan during a visit by the latter, according to the Sun.

Last Friday, Meghan surprised students at Robert Clack School in Dagenham, east London, with a visit to mark International Women's Day (which falls on March 8). At one point, she invited 16-year-old Aker Okoye to the stage to discuss the day's importance.

The teenager reportedly attempted to land a kiss on the Duchess before telling his peers, "She really is beautiful, innit?"

That comment, in turn, led to a brief hug between the two.

Though Okoye later told the Sun that it was "the best day of [his] life so far," he was also concerned that he may have breached protocol. According to the paper, the teenager decided, then, to write a letter apologising to Harry.

"Harry, hope you don't mind me writing this letter," Okoye wrote. "I hope you didn't mind me cuddling your wife."

The British student went on to explain that he was "just overwhelmed and shocked to see her arrive at my school," adding that Meghan is "truly inspirational." He ended the note by wishing the royal couple "good luck for the future."

"Thankfully, I'm single," Okoye joked to the Sun. "If I had a girlfriend, I've no idea what she would have made of it all."

Meghan's visit to the school was her final solo royal engagement as a senior Royal. Both she and Harry will officially step down on March 31.
